MILLER, WILLIAM AUBREY JR., 65, of Louisville and Prospect, KY, passed away on June 5, 2014 suddenly after a brief illness. He was among the first class of students in Jefferson County chosen to enter the Advanced Class program. He graduated from the program at Waggener High School. He graduated from college at University of Louisville. He then decided to follow in his father's career and entered and graduated from the University of Louisville School of Law. After graduation, Bill joined the Louisville law firm of Washer, Kaplan, Rothschild, Aberson, Miller and Dodd. After more than 20 years with the firm, he was asked to join the Louisville firm of Hummel, Coan, Miller, Sage and Rose. He remained at that firm until his death, enjoying a career of nearly 40 years as a practicing attorney in Louisville. Bill loved the practice of law, particularly trial law. He also loved the company of attorneys, borrowing an old quote, of there being no better company than attorneys to "drink, dine, or argue with." He felt himself to be rarely privileged to have had both past and current partners of high skill, brilliance, and integrity. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Debby Lee Miller. Together, for all these decades, they enjoyed extensive travel and shared many hobbies. They were avid horse racing fans. They collected vintage cars of several marquis and along with an interest in trains, they used their hobbies to travel and participate with like minded collectors, establishing friendships throughout the country. He had a lifelong eccentric interest in Ancient Egypt, astronomy, and classical music. He loved good food and wine. He had an infectious laugh and a gift for telling a story. He truly had a life well lived, felt himself to be fortunate and had no regrets.
